Community Garden

We are pleased to share our land with our neighbors through our Community Garden. It provides a wonderful opportunity to grow fresh vegetables, flowers, and herbs in a community with other gardeners.

We have 18 4-ft X 10-ft plots. The cost to lease is $30 per plot per year. The area is fenced in and has 2 water taps for our gardeners' use.

If you are interested in leasing a plot, please review the guidelines below and complete an application form. We will be in touch with you once we've received your application.

If you have questions, email the Garden Committee or call the church office at 704-554-5714.

Community Garden Guidelines

Welcome to the QHPC Community Garden. To maintain a spirit of cooperation and respect, we ask gardeners to follow these guidelines:

  • Please treat the garden and other gardeners with respect and consideration.
  • Gardeners are expected to bring and remove all tools and supplies needed to attend their garden daily.  One watering can may be left on their plot.
  • Keep trash out of the plot, and respect neighboring plots.
  • Do not plant poisonous or illegal plants.
  • Harvest only from your plot.
  • Plastic mulches are prohibited.
  • Gardeners are responsible for keeping pathways around their plot clear.
  • All waste must be taken out of the garden for disposal elsewhere.
  • Do not garden after sundown.
  • Do not bring pets to the garden.
  • We love children, but please do not use the garden as a playground. We have a playground nearby that may be used at times other than weekday mornings when our Preschool is in session.
  • If you must abandon the plot for any reason, you will notify the Garden Committee.
  • If your plot becomes neglected, you will be given 2 weeks to clean it up. After that time, it will be reassigned.
  • Please do not park on the grass or driveway. Use the gravel area near the garden or the paved parking lot behind the church.
